Casting Approach Overview

Our cast need to embody their authentic selves. We’re on the hunt for true originals, those that have the playful spirit and joyous approach to life which feels contagious. Whilst we’ll be laying out some aesthetic ideas in the brief, the most important thing is always, character.

At this stage we feel it’s better to avoid attributing particular roles to regions, however in the long run we will ensure that we are speaking to key markets across the campaign holistically (Namely: North America, South Korea, Germany, India).

Casting Brief

TWO LEFT FEET

This film will be the one to hit our Indian market, so ideally all our cast would be Indian

LEAD DANCING KID

Could be a boy or girl, slight leaning preference to boy but would like to see where casting gets us to. Aged between 8-14, slightly on the chubbier side which makes their energy and confidence all the more lovable. Should have a great serious face for when they’re taking themself seriously dancing, but also a big beaming smile for when they’re chuffed with the final move.

ONLOOKER – IDEALLY PARENT OF CHILD BUT OPEN TO OPTIONS

A parent or grandparent (any gender, any feasible age 40+ / 60+ if the latter). Could cast from lead child’s actual family. A person who looks a bit tired of the whole thing, but also as proud as punch nonetheless.

STREET DANCE OFF

This film will be the one to hit our Korean market, so ideally all our cast would be Korean / Pan Asia.

GIRL 1 + 2

Girl aged around 16, stereotypical ‘tiktok’ look, well done hair, makeup, smiley, joyful. Could be sisters, could be friends.

INTERRUPTING DAD. – IDEALLY PARENT OF CHILD BUT OPEN TO OPTIONS

An middle aged man, 45-55. A bit of a dad bod, so it’s surprising he could have some moves like that. Should have a good range of expression from the ‘grumpy look’ he has when lawn mowing / hedge trimming and initially approaching the speaker, to a feel of pure joy and inhibited freedom when he joins in - he’s cool and he knows it. He should be able to absolutely nail his choreo, and impress his kids massively.

Renewals will revert back to PAIC tables :
