They are looking for the following:

A Female Coloured/Black:to play the role of a dignified chief wife, who has an afro and a physically able body, Matured facial look.
Background of Mama - She is a nurse by profession but due to traditional customs and being married to the chief she is not allowed to work, she was forced into getting married to the chief as it was an arranged marriage, she is a strong believer in traditional customs and is a spiritual leader at church. Her views on social issues are very narrow and thus she doesn't easily succumb to change.

Language: English/ Xhosa

Age : 19-25

Father - Dark skinned, 1.68 - 1.70m tall, has a mature face structure, physically able body.
Background - Father is a Chief from the Eastern Cape, very authoritative and assertive in his ways, he loves his wife but affection was never a thing, he is a very dignified man and his nephew is the best thing that ever happened to him, has an over view on all social issues but how will he react when it hits home ?
Languages - Xhosa + English
Age of role - 30

Cousin( Male) Black - he must have a physically able body, average height, average body, fairly sized, young rural boy from the Eastern Cape, parents were killed by the owner of the farm which they had worked for and the fathers body has not been found; in competition with Melusi but pretends to be innocent in front of the elders.

Age: 19-22

- Show Dates 26 Apr-1 May 2018.

- Must be available for rehearsals in beginning of year (2018).

- Must be able to attend rehearsal in CBD if chosen.

- Prepare 1min comedy monologue and or physical theatre piece.

- Fixed rate of R1000 per actor due to it being a young star production.

Catering will be provided for duration of festival only. And transport will be sorted amongst you.

Venue of audition: City Varsity, Roeland Street, Cape Town, MVT studio.
