Audition call for Saturday Night Fever, Pretoria

Men and women 10 - 35 Years old, Gauteng

Actors wanted for Saturday Night Fever that will be on stage at the State Theatre Pretoria.

The performance is based on the Paramount/RSO Film and is featuring songs by The Bee Gees.

Auditions to be held at the State Theatre Pretoria from Monday January 25th to Friday January 29th 2016.

Male auditions only:
Monday January 25th 2016 from 10h00.

Female auditions only:
Tuesday January 26th 2016 from 10h00.

Call-backs:
Wednesday January 27th 2016 to friday January 29th 2016.

Contractual commitment to the show:
August 15th to October 9th 2016
The Opera Theatre at The South African State Theatre, Pretoria.

NOTES FOR THOSE AUDITIONING

-The casting of Saturday Night Fever requires 26 triple-threat performers. Even the character actors will be required to appear in some ensemble scenes. Therefore, everyone auditioning needs to be able to sing, dance and act well.

-All those auditioning must prepare a pop song in a similarstyle to the show; one that showcases both range and acting ability. They do not want you to sing a song from the show itself. Sheet music only – no backing tracks will be permitted. Sheet music must be clearly marked and in the correct key; please bring appropriate piano-vocal arrangements – no chord sheets or lead sheets. Absolutely no acapella singing.

-Come prepared to dance.

-Come prepared to stay for a long day, if required, and possible call-backs later in the week.

-Do not turn up for an audition without your name having been confirmed through your agent or directly (if you don’t have an agent). Those not on the lists for auditions on the day will not be seen.

All those auditioning should report to the stage door of the Pretoria State Theatre at the given time.

No roles have been pre-cast prior to auditions.
